So I am a little embarrassed because I didn't post last week and I said I would post once a week. I do however have a very good reason. We moved to our actual apartment and it was a very busy week. Up till now we were put in a temporary apartment that was designed to be wheelchair accessible. It was a good place but all the closets had the rods at about chest level or lower and the bathroom looked like a convenient store bathroom with no shelves whatsoever which made us truly live out of boxes in that room. I am so glad to be in a real place with things at a normal height and there is way more closet space. This is the first place I have lived in a really long time that I have only needed one closet for my clothes. If you were wondering yes I have way too many clothes and I do give the ones I don't like anymore or the few pants that don't fit to DI but I am still left with more than a closet full of clothes. When I moved from Orem I gave away 3 garbage bags full in hopes of helping the situation and I have not bought any more clothes I guess I just have that many things to start with.
I am grateful to have family around when moving time comes around. We have moved three times since we got married and my dad has helped two of the times and brother-in-laws have helped so this time we thought we would let Rich's family give us a hand. What lucky people they are. So his Dad and Mom and two of his brothers came Monday night and they got all the big stuff moved so that helped a ton. It will always amaze me how many items we have when we move I think there is just us two and we don't buy much so moving will be a piece of cake. Every time I am wrong when all the "things" need to be moved. I can't imagine moving a whole house and I really don't want to have to find out what kind of ordeal that entails. We will cross that bridge when we get there till then I am going to be happy to stay in one place for the year.
Another thing we have been dealing with lately has been different fraud schemes. I am not sure why but in the past two weeks there have been four different types of fraud been thrown at us. We have not fallen for any but it has kept us on our toes. The first was while trying to sell a ring on ksl and a person wanted me to send it to him and give postage to someone else. I told him this was a local only sale. The second one we got a letter in the mail saying that Rich had been accepted for a job and this "job" was for a secret shopper the first assignment was to cash the enclosed check for about 4 grand and then send through money order most of it and keep $500 for training fees. Trouble with this is Rich never applied for a job and if you send cash and the check doesn't clear which it never would then you are out the $4000 dollars and you will never see it again. The next one Rich did get his credit card number stolen by someone out of the country and drained his account. I am sure that it was quite the let down for the theif to find out how little was actually in the account. His bank has been good working with us and getting us the money back. The last one I got a text friday night from my "bank" well someone saying it was my bank and that my card had been suspended and to call a number urgent to activate it. I really wanted to call the number and give them that card of "1111 do you really think I am that stupid" but sadly I am sure some people are stupid enough to call a random number and give their card information over the phone. Moral of the story be on your toes and don't do anything that seems the least bit suspicious. It was mildly sad to write VOID on the check for almost $4000 but it would have been heartbreaking if we didn't question it and lost that much money.
On a happier note I read the most amazing book and I HIGHLY recommend it to everyone it is really short and took about an hour to read. It is called The Majesty of Calmness by William Geoge Jordan. It is a book about life and how by changing small things in your thinking you can live a more calm peaceful life and have the knowledge that you can achieve great things. If you have some time read it and you can get it free on google. Please read it, this book has been one of the best most enlightening books I have had the chance to read.
Till next time take care.

My Big Brother
I have been watching the show Homeland Security USA on ABC and it has got me thinking how proud I am of my brother. For those of you who do not know him let me give you some background. My brother is 3 years older than I am and was the best big brother around. He would never let anyone hurt me or my sisters and would stand up for us at any cost. That does not mean that he didn't do his own share of teasing or the occasional smack down but nobody else could touch us. For as long as I can remember he was going to be in some type of law enforcement. I can't even tell you how many times he would arrest us girls and put us in "jail" usually the laundry shoot closet. He would leave us in there and bring us bread and water and then try to tickle torture information from us. He may have just been a very smart baby sitter because we were contained and he didn't want to actually have to watch us too close but he is the only one who would know that. He would talk about being a police officer or and FBI agent or CIA and stuff like that. It wasn't just the normal when I grow up type stuff he was serious. While in high school he joined the national guard and with that went to Afghanistan after 9/11. He went on from there to finish schooling in criminal justice. He also speaks Spanish and with that background he was perfect for that Boarder Patrol. He was a boarder patrol officer for several years and has some really good stories. My favorite is the one that he caught a bunch of illegal aliens and one of them left the cell phone in the trees. It started to ring and my brother answered the phone he got the people waiting to transport the illegals to come to the spot and they caught them as well. He would have to tell the whole story but at one point a person on the other end of the line asked who my brother was and he replied "Your worst nightmare" Yeah my Bro is a badass. If I messed up the story I apologize I wasn't there when it happened and it was told to me by my parents. My bro also has a family and is a wonderful dad and husband. His little girl who is one of my favorite people in the world said when her dad went to work he played with his friends and pretends to get bad guys, the bad guys are illegal aliens, so cute. Now he is working with Immigration and Custom Enforcement again serving our nation to be a more safe place. As you can see I have a lot to be proud of him about. He is doing what he always said he would do and from what I hear he is doing a dang good job of it. I am really glad there is a reality show on now that will give some people an idea of just how hard people work to keep us safe. I love you Bro and you are one of my heroes.
In case you are wondering I did leave his name off on purpose. But if you do know me you know who he is.

Friends in Town
So last week my BFF Tia was able to come and stay we had so much fun. She moved to Maryland and I miss her all the time. I have just realized what a dork I am in that I didn't even pull my camera out once to capture the moments she was here. There was dancing and when Tia stayed in Bountiful my BFF Tiff and I went out. I really have some of the best friends in the world.
One of the nights we went to dinner with a bunch of friends Kim and Paul and Kyle, Reese and Rich, Brittany, Tia and Chris (her super boyfriend who was in town for a business trip) and Rich and I (Tiff was stuck in traffic in Salt Lake otherwise she would have been there.) Well anyway we went to dinner a Los Hermanos in Lindon and before we even got out food Chirs got a call from his coworker telling him that the RV they were staying in had been broken into! They had parked the RV in Sugar House and the rest of his group went to a movie while he came to diner with us. I feel so bad his group lost approximately $20,000 worth of equipment and clothing. It makes me so angry that someone would take his stuff. There is a reward if anyone knows about the burglary. Not paid be me of course but the owner of Chris's company the story is on ksl.com.
Anyway I loved having Tia in town and it was fun to have her crash in our tiny apartment.

Here Goes Nothing
OK this is my first post so please take it easy on me. I have been thinking of doing a blog now for awhile and while I don't find me too terribly entertaining I don't want to deprive all those people who want to know about me and my wonderful husband. I want to first put a mushy disclaimer into affect. I love my husband more than anything and think he is the most wonderful human to ever be in my life, therefore I will talk about him a lot and at times may be mushy when talking about him. This is your only warning. Now that I have that out of the way where should I start?
We have been married now for 1 year and 15 days that have been the best year and 15 days ever. Our story is kind of unique and really pretty crazy even when I think about it. We met in our singles ward in September where we flirted like crazy and talked at every opportunity. From the beginning I knew he would be fun to go out with and I thought that he might like me considering our talking but for 3 long months he did not ask me out or for my phone number, very disheartening. One night I had a brilliant idea to test out the theory of positive thinking. So with the thought of getting Rich to call I put his phone number in my phone so he would already be in there that way he would have to call. Silly I know but two days later it, worked he called! So our first date was December 1st and by far was the BEST first date ever. We had so much fun my cheeks hurt from smiling and laughing. I did not want the date to end at all. The next day was church and we sat next to each other during Stake Conference I have no idea what was talked about during the meeting I was having too much fun playing tic-tac-toe and the like with Rich. That night after ward prayer Rich drove me home (I lived a whole three houses away from the church) on the door step he kissed me and it was magic! I didn't want to kiss anyone else from that time forward. We spent every waking moment that we could together after that which was a lot of time. During this time I told him about my sisters dog having puppies and took him over to see them. They were the cutest things ever and it did not take much convincing and Rich decided to buy one of them. Lucy joined our family before we were officially a family on Christmas eve 2007. On December 23rd I had asked Rich if he wanted to go to Vegas for a trip and he half joking said why so we can get married. Well it didn't take long about a half hour and we decided that yes we really did want to get married. I had thought about this quite a bit before this conversation and was quite surprised to find that Rich had too. I thought after three weeks and I knew for a fact that I never wanted to be apart form him that getting married was a great idea. I was so in love and I am even more in love with him today. So with that choice in the hat Rich asked my dad for his permission to marry me on Christmas Eve to our credit my Dad said he knew it was coming and his mom said she knew the first day that we would get married. So with the help of my amazing mother we pulled together a wonderful wedding in three weeks and truly I had nothing more to desire with the decorations and food and cake. I would have had more pictures taken looking back.
For the first 10 months we lived in Orem and for a short three months we saved money and moved in with my parents in the basement. If there comes a time when everyone has to live with two couples in the house I get to live with my parents they are awesome housemates. We are now living in Draper and it has been working quite well for us. We like our little apartment.
Now that I have you all sort of up-to date on us I can get to the more daily ins and outs of our lives on the next post. I will try and do one a week and start with that goal so you won't all get your hopes up of reading a new post on our awesome lives each day and be diasapointed.
